Disney has finally revealed more information about their upcoming title Disney Infinity, an MMO where you can play as Disney characters in either developer or user created worlds.

During a press event held today, January 15, Disney revealed lots of new information about the game. Disney Infinity, scheduled for release in June 2013, will be a cross-platform sandbox game with a character system not unlike the popular Skylanders. The game will launch with 20 characters, focusing on Monster’s University, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Incredibles.

Information on Valve’s new project coming soon

Rumors have been circulating for a  long time about a gaming console to come from gaming’s giant Valve, and now the rumors have been confirmed.

The ‘Steam Box,’ the unofficial title, will be announced at the Consumers Electronic Show in Las Vegas, which runs from January 8 to January 11. The company Xi3 has reported that they have received an investment from Valve and is developing the hardware which will ultimately run the Valve software, most likely a more specialized version of Valve’s already released ‘Big Picture’ mode for Steam.

The console will be housed in a chassis similar to that pictured above, which is about the size of a grapefruit and will be able to fit in the palm of your hand. More information will be revealed with the opening of the Consumers Electronic Show.

What is there to look forward to in 2013?

Originally planned to be a launch feature of the WiiU, Nintendo today announced that the feature would hit consoles December 20, meaning that WiiUs unwrapped on Christmas will have the feature ready to be used.

“Nintendo TVii maximizes Wii U owners’ current cable, satellite and video-on-demand services by pulling all of their available content sources – such as a Comcast cable package or Hulu Plus subscription – into one place,” according to a Nintendo press release. The application will not allow Netflix, Amazon Prime, or TiVo compatibility  though Netflix has it’s own WiiU application.

Support for TiVo and Netflix is expected in 2013. TVii is free to all WiiU owners and does not require an additional purchase or hardware.
